Here’s Why You’re Unhappy With Your Job
Do you sometimes have thoughts like this?
Why am I here? “What happened? Why am I so unhappy? Why am I so anxious and stressed all the time?
“I thought a job would make me happy, but it isn’t, why do I feel so unfulfilled?
“I thought that raise and/or bonus would make me excited, but it was so short-lived…”
“Oh this promotion wasn’t all I thought it would be”
“Why am I living my life like this? This day to day drudgery and the monotony”
“I feel like I”m suffocated by life and my responsibilities.”
You’re feeling this way because you were bribed by your job
You might be confused. Like what are you talking about bribed by my job?
Well here’s why I say this:
What’s another word for “bribe?”
You were bought out by your job. They’re giving you a certain amount of money (and just enough of it), so that you can say adios to your dreams and deny yourself of what you were truly made for. Does this make sense? That’s what I mean by saying you were bribed by your job.
What happened to your dreams? You’re unhappy because you weren’t made for average!
You accepted a desk job, maybe a cubicle or office. Maybe you got that raise or promotion that you’ve always wanted just to get a little bit more money.
But the fact of the matter is, you sacrificed your own dreams in order to give in to average. To give into what everyone else is doing. And that’s why you’re unhappy and feeling unfulfilled.
Are you average? Are you common? Just a faceless being in a sea of faces? How sad is this? Don’t accept this kind of life!
You weren’t born to just pay bills and die
Is your life more than a zombie existence?
Aren’t you more than your job? Or has your job consumed your identity and self-worth.
I know you’ve asked yourself probably, “is this how it’s gonna be forever? Because if so, I can’t. I just can’t.”
You only get one shot at life. So I ask you again, why live like this? And don’t say, “well at least until…” Because you know deep down you’re tricking yourself. If not you’ll realize 5, 10, 20 years later that you were wrong. So very wrong.
Raise your price because your worth is greater than that
I say this again. Stop accepting that bribe from your job. You’re shackled like a prisoner. And I’ve never seen a prisoner that was happy, have you?
You know this and you’re still there!! Accepting payment for your life and accepting payment to basically be an indentured servant. You’re making them rich, while you’re being given crumbs!
You need to raise the price. Raise your worth. You’re so much more than this, only if you can just break free and step forward with courage to pursue your dreams.
You can’t be bought!
If you’re currently in your dream job, then that’s great!
Look, if you love what you’re doing today. If your job today is your dream job, then that’s great! Whether you’re a nurse, teacher, police officer, doctor, or whatever else, then congratulations you haven’t sold yourself!
That said, just because you’re in your dream job, doesn’t necessarily mean it will be awesome all the time. Usually things that really push our abilities to their max (which brings fulfillment), can at times cause stress. But this type of stress (the one you get when you’re doing your dream job) is the healthy type of stress, and is normal. Don’t confuse this type of stress with the feeling of unfulfillment you’ll get from being at a place you hate day after day, with no end in sight.
P.S. Here’s the winner of today’s cash give-away!
The winner is @philipthomas444 as the first person to get it correct! And the correct answer was “Lie” by NF (Nathan John Feuerstein); and it’s currently #80 on the Bill Board 100 and that’s cool because he’s a christian artist. Let’s support him!
