A North Korean Nuclear EMP Attack Would Kill 90% of Americans
This may not seem relevant to money, career, or fitness, but trust me, it’s far more relevant than you realize.
I just read that North Korea tested an ICBM (inter-continental ballistic missile) that has the ability to reach any part of the world.
This is huge.
This means, with North Korea’s current nuclear capabilities, they can mount a nuclear warhead on top of that missile and attack with not only just 1 missile, but multiple missiles so that our missile defense systems would get overwhelmed.
All it takes is just one of these to drop on a major city to not only cause massive civilian casualties, but it would throw the world into huge economic turmoil.
What Kind of Impacts Would This Have?
The stock markets will crash probably far more severely than 2008, credit markets will freeze up, and housing values will plummet (because nuclear fallout would hit the entirety of the USA, and most of Mexico and Canada, if it’s a hydrogen bomb and will remain a health hazard for many years to come).
So it’ll cripple 3 huge global economies for perhaps decades. Which will in turn have reverberations throughout the entire global economy. The housing market, stock market, and liquidity in the market will dry up completely.
And people will be evacuating the majority of the US because of the nuclear fall out.
Personally, I wouldn’t want me or my family to live in an area like Chernobyl, would you?
Not only that, this would spark World War III, since the US would completely wipe out North Korea and China (as an ally of North Korea) would probably get involved.
But North Korea’s ICBM Capabilities Shouldn’t Be Our Only Concern
I also recently read that there was a legitimate concern that was reported to the US House of Representatives a few weeks ago.
This report warned that North Korea’s threat of turning the “US into ashes” might come in the form of a nuclear EMP attack; not a nuclear warhead tipped missile.
And if this does occur, up to 90% of all Americans would die within 1 year!
This committee report also detailed that it could end up being a Super EMP weapon.
And that a weapon like this can even be fitted inside a satellite:
“North Korea’s “Kwangmyongsong-3 (KMS-3) or Kwangmyongsong-4 (KMS-4) satellites…these two satellites presently orbit over the United States, and over every other nation on earth, demonstrating, or posing, a potential EMP thread against the entire world.”
Wow. Just wow.
Here’s The Area Of Effect a Potential Nuclear EMP Attack
This is worse than I could’ve ever imagined.
If you take a look at this graphic below, we’re talking all of the US and huge swaths of Mexico and Canada.
An Attack Like This Would be a Surprise Attack; You Won’t See it Coming
The same report to congress also describes the following:
The”south polar trajectory of KMS-3 and KMS-4 evades U.S. Ballistic Missile Early Warning and National Missile Defenses, resembling a Russian secret weapon developed during the Cold War, called the Fractional Orbital Bombardment System (FOBS) that would have used a nuclear-armed satellite to make a surprise EMP attack on the United States.”
So what does this mean?
This means that there would be no advance warning if North Korea were to carry out such an attack! Our missile defense systems wouldn’t even be prepared for it because the satellite would evade our missile defense systems!
Can We Do Something Already? What’s the Plan of Action?
I’m sure the government is smarter than me.
I’m sure we have the right people, in the right places, that know how to prevent such a horrific thing from happening.
Please tell me we do!
I don’t know, but these are merely wishes and I’m not feeling too great right now resting my chances on the inefficiencies of our government, or the governments around the world.
We’re putting economic sanctions on North Korea, which is what the world has been doing for decades and it just hasn’t worked!
It’s a Lose-Lose Situation, No Matter How You Look At It
Not only are these nuclear weapons the crux of the problem.
North Korea has a ton of conventional artillery aimed at South Korea.
In the event of a preemptive attack from the US, North Korea will barrage the capital of South Korea and its immediate vicinity with so much fire power (I’ve read roughly 11,000 artillery units) that it’s estimated that it’ll kill 20,000 people a day!
But the longer we wait, the more nuclear missiles Kim Jong Un will have in his arsenal. They might just have a couple of ICBM’s and medium range missiles, but give them another year or two, they may have dozens. So the longer we wait, the more missiles he’ll have.
Kim Jong Un Won’t Back Down, So We Need to Address this ASAP!
It’s clear that the dictator of North Korea is crazy and he has made up his mind that he needs this nuclear “trump card” (you see what I did there? Couldn’t resist), to play against the US so that he can ensure the survivability of his regime.
He yields complete control over that country and diverts all of the country’s resources into its’ army and nuclear ambitions.
Earlier this year, they tested what a lot of people are saying was an H-bomb.
Do you know what an H-Bomb is?
It makes an atomic bomb look like a joke!
According to Live Science:
“The [atomic] bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki exploded with the yield of 15 kilotons and 20 kilotons of TNT…in contrast, the first test of a thermonuclear weapon, or hydrogen bomb, in the United States in November 1952 yielded an explosion on the order of 10,000 kilotons of TNT”
So we’re talking multiple orders of magnitude here.

Do you have any thoughts on this? What do you think the US government, along with the rest of the world, should do with the North Korean regime? Should they keep waiting? Keep trying diplomacy? What other options do you think there are?
